Optimize GBP

Want to triple your local roof coating leads this monthβ€”without spending more on ads?

No, I can't guarantee that you'll triple calls.

But you'll likely get more this way.

In today’s short read, you’ll get one to-do + a checklist you can apply right now to boost your commercial roofing leads.

Marketing Minute

In today’s short read, you’ll get one to-do and a checklist you can apply right now to boost your commercial roofing leads.

Optimize and use your Google Business Profile (GBP)β€”and most contractors (it's said) only use 40% of its potential.

This week, do one thing:

Update your GBP with 3 new before/after photos of your latest roofing project.

Why?

πŸ“Έ Google seems to prioritize fresh, high-quality photo uploads β€” it signals you’re active, which should improve your visibility in the map pack.

πŸ“ˆ Contractors who consistently upload job photos report 20–40% more inbound calls over 60 days (citation needed but should be accurate).

Make sure your Google Business Profile is 100% ready to bring in leads.

Here's a GBP Optimization Checklist to help:

  1. Claim & Verify - Make sure you’ve claimed your profile at business.google.com/ and that it's been verified

  2. Accuracy - Double-check name, address, phone (NAP) consistency across ALL your online listings, website and marketing

  3. Service Area - Add your service areas (by city or ZIP). We usually add 5-6 cities in a radius around your location

  4. Categories - Generally use the primary category of "Roofing Contractor" but add additional secondary categories if you actually service those

  5. Services - Optionally list your services in the β€œServices” section linking to the corresponding page on your website

  6. Hours - Check accuracy of hours. Generally opt for as broad a timespan as possible but keep identical across all online listings and website

  7. Messages - Turn on Google Messaging (if you can reply fast)

  8. Photos - Upload at least 4-5 job photos per month (before/after, team shots, materials, equipment)

  9. Updates - Post updates weekly: job wins, offers, tips, etc.. Ask relevant questions and provide well-written answers in the FAQ section

  10. Bonus tip - Answer the phone! In my opinion, this is one of the biggest reasons contractors are not busier when they really want to be. Many people refuse to leave voicemails, and that includes your prospective clients.

πŸ‘‰ We already handle all this and much more for clients in the Local Search Mastery program. If you are not in the program yet but want more info, just hit reply and type β€œCheck My GBP”—I’ll send you a quick audit this week.

Keep On Coating!

Several days ago Google rolled out a massive update to their AI tools.

This update is only available on the Google AI Ultra plan: https://gemini.google/about/

Just entered a one-paragraph prompt and 'shazam,' there it was!

Go drop a comment in the comments.

And like the page so you can see what I'm dropping NEXT week ;)

A.I. is evolving FAST!

The key is to learn how to use it effectively AND efficiently so you can use it to grow, optimize and run your business better.

Otherwise, it's just a waste of time (and resources).

We'll see where this one lands.
