THIS WEEK

Erma and I just got back from a leadership retreat in Iowa—three days with around 50 top leaders.

The one loud and clear takeaway I came home with:

👉 If you’re feeling bored, burned out, or stuck… it’s probably not the wrong business.

It’s a lack of mission.

I had to think of Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28—Go. Teach. Baptize. Teach.

That calling isn’t just for pastors—it’s for business owners too.

Conklin’s mission (in part) covers this so well:

“...helping people see who they are and the difference they can make... while building a business to the glory of God.”

Here’s how I’m applying that—maybe it’ll help you too:

  1. Speak identity (life) over your clients, crew, and family

  2. Encourage the difference they can make, calling out their gifts

  3. Do it all to the glory of God

Now it's your turn.

What's your mission?
Is it clear enough to fuel your business?
Is it strong enough to guide your life?

This week—take a few moments to get quiet.

Get clear.

Then get moving.

Your mission matters.

Your work matters.

Make it count.

RESOURCES

If you're a roofing contractor who wants to STAY in business, then you'll want to have the "proper" liability coverage.

If you are hiring subs, this becomes even more important.

I've heard stories of some commercial roof coating contractors that had a policy but had exclusions for spraying coatings, opening the roof, working over a small amount of height, etc.

A short while ago I had the chance to visit with Mark Hunter and he revealed a few of the TOP things most roofing contractors miss when getting liability coverage.

Mark offers a no-obligation review of your current policy and will highlight and show you if there's anything missing (examples in the interview above).

And no, I don't get paid to share this :), but I do get the pleasure of seeing contractors saved from shady policies that could put them under!
