Go Up
Recently I came across a writer’s idea that when you’re “stuckin” as my dear Erma called it when they played “farm” as kids and were “stuck” in the field…
When you end up down and out, depressed, burned out, unable to accomplish anything, etc…
Go up.
Go up to the top of the high-rise, to the top of the hill, up the mountains, upstairs in your house and look out the window, etc.
He claimed getting up to greater heights above your surroundings will unlock your creativity and help you think bigger.
Thinking better thoughts.
Unique ideas.
Maybe that’s why I love spending time in the Rocky Mountains every year. (Shoutout to my friends Chester and Matt for moving there recently. Take advantage of this!)
Besides going to the mountains and spending time with my Creator, I also like going to the ocean. Pictures are coming next week. Maybe. ;)
What are some things you try when you “getstuck” or loose focus?

P.S. My 16-year-old son Eric is doing another batch of custom-printed polos, t-shirts, and hoodies with logos. Let me know what shirt type you prefer and I’ll have Eric send you details. He also engraves leather patch logos for hats:

Find one more review this week.
And next week.
And the week after.
I've mentioned this before, but it's so extremely important that it's worth mentioning again. There's a lot that happens when you pick up a review on Google from a happy client. And, besides increasing your visibility in searches and helping both your website and your GBP outrank competitors, it also helps increase trust with prospects!
It's really as simple as asking your client, at the end of the job, "Hey, would you have 30 seconds to do me a favor?" Then ask if they'd be willing to drop a review on Google Maps. Even 0ffer to pull it up for them on their ph0ne. If they add a photo of the building (or roof), it adds even a lot more value to that review!
Another option:
Hey, could you do me a HUGE favor and drop a review on Google? It takes 30 seconds and would mean THE WORLD to me!!! Every review in a roundabout way also kinda helps keep Joella’s BoBo puppy dog from starving 😁 Hear's the direct link to do that right away: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJO56LyAmtM4gRDN0rPiv22tY
P.S. Last week I mentioned misspellings. I use a sp-am checker tool to help av-oid traps so my email shows up in more inboxes. Hopefully! There are certain words that you may want to av0id in emails. Replying to my emails helps that too ;)
This Week’s Sponsor
Contact CommercialRoofingWebsites.com for your commercial roofing websites. With hosting starting at JUST 33/MONTH and just a onetime costt for the website design, you'll finally have a blazinfast, search-engine-friendly, and PROFESSIONAL website that builds trust, collects leads, and helps you close more projects. In full disclosure, Owen Shrock came out of "semi-retirement" to re-start this venture because he got fed up with shoddy-looking websites and "gurus" rippinoff contractors 950 every month for websites that were causing roofers to "not close" jobs!
Seal the Deal
Did you know that people are attracted to something "new" a lot quicker than something "better"?
Two (conflicting) thoughts:
1. How can you use this in selling? "Mr. Building owner, what we have hear is a totally nuw way of sealing your roof. Although roofers been doing this since 1976 when the product was first tested, so it's been proven for a long time on billions of square feet of roof. But it's a nuw concept to most people: sealing the seams and topcoat on the entire roof..." Had to put 'topcoat' in there somehow 😂
2. Since we're aware of this hu-man disposition (aka shiny object syndrome), how can we be more careful jumping onto the "newest" market-ing (or selling) tactic? Sometimes there are "nuw" things that will make a major change in business (like AI tools, which we'll discuss in the future) but many times it's just dressed up as a "nuw" thing because that sells better than "better."
The conundrum: how do you sell "new" while keeping yourself from getting caught up in it when people try to pitch you on their products and services? 🤷♂️🙂
